RAY WHITE, one of the most recognised brands in real estate throughout Australia and New Zealand, first established a presence in the Centenary suburbs in the late 1970s in the suburb of Westlake.  When the post office opened in nearby Mount Ommaney moved its premises into the suburb’s newly opened shopping centre around the beginning of the ‘80s, Ray White relocated to the vacated space. The story goes that people continued to try to buy stamps there for years afterwards!

As computers and other new technologies came into vogue, the agency became an early adopter.  They were the first business in the area with a fax machine. Employees from the nearby Commonwealth Bank would  come into the office to use it.  While Principal Geoff Williams admits to a few hair-pulling moments with buggy software and hardware failures, he says he’s glad they persevered with their commitment to IT innovation. In 1987, Ray White Centenary became the first real estate agency in Queensland (including the glitzy Gold Coast) to sell a property for over $1 million! The agency moved again in the early ‘90s, and more recently to the current location in the Mount Ommaney Medical Centre.

Wherever the location, the professionals at Ray White Centenary have continued their tradition of excellence for a quarter of a century.
